1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the services provided by Fjord & Fjall Reiseliv AS ("Mantle Travel Agency," "we," "us," or "our"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.

Our adventure travel services include but are not limited to trekking expeditions, safari adventures, diving excursions, and various outdoor activities across multiple destinations. Each service is subject to these general terms as well as specific conditions that may apply to individual activities or destinations.

2. Service Description

Mantle Travel Agency specializes in adventure travel experiences, offering carefully curated outdoor activities and expeditions. Our network of experienced guides and partners ensures high-quality adventures while maintaining safety standards.

2.1 Adventure Activities

Our services encompass a wide range of adventure activities including:

• Multi-day trekking and hiking expeditions
• Wildlife safari experiences
• Scuba diving and snorkeling adventures
• Rock climbing and mountaineering
• Kayaking and water sports
• Cultural immersion experiences
• Photography and nature tours

2.2 Booking Process

To get started today with your adventure booking, simply contact our team through the provided channels. Our community of travel experts will work with you to customize the perfect adventure experience based on your preferences, skill level, and available dates.

Booking Requirements

1. Complete booking form with accurate personal information
2. Provide relevant experience and fitness level details
3. Submit required documentation (passport, permits, etc.)
4. Pay required deposit as specified in booking confirmation
5. Acknowledge understanding of activity-specific risks

3. Payment Terms and Conditions

All bookings require a deposit to secure your reservation. Payment terms vary depending on the type and duration of the adventure experience selected.

3.1 Deposit and Payment Schedule

• Day trips and single-day activities:Full payment required at booking
• Multi-day adventures (2-7 days):50% deposit required, balance due 30 days before departure
• Extended expeditions (8+ days):30% deposit required, 50% due 60 days before departure, final 20% due 14 days before departure

3.2 Accepted Payment Methods

We accept major credit cards, bank transfers, and digital payment platforms. All prices are quoted in Norwegian Kroner (NOK) unless otherwise specified. Currency conversion rates may apply for international payments.

4. Cancellation and Refund Policy

We understand that travel plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair while accounting for the advance planning required for adventure travel experiences.

4.1 Cancellation by Customer

• More than 60 days before departure:Full refund minus 10% administrative fee
• 31-60 days before departure: 75% refund
• 15-30 days before departure: 50% refund
• Less than 15 days before departure: No refund

4.2 Cancellation by Mantle Travel Agency

In rare circumstances, we may need to cancel an adventure due to weather conditions, safety concerns, or insufficient bookings. In such cases, customers will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule to an alternative date.

Force Majeure Events

Cancellations due to natural disasters, political instability, pandemic restrictions, or other events beyond our control may result in modified refund terms. We will work with customers to find suitable alternatives or provide fair compensation.

5. Safety and Risk Acknowledgment

Adventure travel inherently involves certain risks. All participants must acknowledge and accept these risks as part of their booking agreement.

5.1 Participant Responsibilities

Each participant is responsible for:

• Accurately disclosing fitness level and relevant experience
• Following all safety instructions provided by guides
• Using provided safety equipment properly
• Informing guides of any concerns or limitations
• Maintaining appropriate travel insurance coverage

5.2 Guide Authority

Our certified guides have final authority on all safety-related decisions during adventures. This includes the right to modify itineraries, exclude participants who pose safety risks, or terminate activities if conditions become unsafe.

6. Travel Insurance and Liability

Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended and may be required for certain high-risk activities or remote destinations.

6.1 Insurance Requirements

Participants should ensure their insurance covers:

• Adventure sports and outdoor activities
• Emergency evacuation from remote locations
• Trip cancellation and interruption
• Personal belongings and equipment
• Personal liability coverage

6.2 Limitation of Liability

Mantle Travel Agency's liability is limited to the cost of services provided. We are not responsible for injuries, losses, or damages resulting from participant actions, natural events, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

7. Itinerary and Service Modifications

Adventure travel requires flexibility. Weather conditions, local circumstances, and safety considerations may necessitate itinerary changes.

7.1 Right to Modify

We reserve the right to modify itineraries, accommodations, or activities when necessary for safety, weather, or operational reasons. We will make every effort to provide comparable alternatives and will communicate changes as soon as possible.

7.2 No Compensation for Modifications

No refunds or compensation will be provided for itinerary modifications made for safety or operational reasons, unless the modification significantly reduces the overall value of the experience.

8. Participant Conduct and Requirements

All participants must conduct themselves in a manner that ensures the safety and enjoyment of the entire group.

8.1 Age and Fitness Requirements

Minimum age requirements and fitness levels vary by activity. Participants must meet specified requirements and may be asked to provide fitness certifications for challenging adventures.

8.2 Behavioral Standards

Participants who engage in dangerous, disruptive, or inappropriate behavior may be removed from the adventure without refund. This includes but is not limited to:

• Failure to follow safety instructions
• Intoxication or substance use
• Harassment of other participants or staff
• Damage to equipment or property
• Disregard for environmental protection guidelines

9. Environmental Responsibility

As an adventure travel company, we are committed to sustainable and responsible tourism practices. All participants are expected to support these efforts.

9.1 Leave No Trace Principles

All adventures follow Leave No Trace principles, and participants must:

• Pack out all waste and litter
• Respect wildlife and natural habitats
• Stay on designated trails and camping areas
• Minimize campfire impact
• Respect local communities and cultures

9.2 Conservation Support

A portion of all adventure fees supports local conservation efforts and community development projects in the regions we visit.

10. Privacy and Data Protection

Participants may be photographed or filmed during adventures for promotional purposes. By participating, you grant permission for use of your likeness in marketing materials unless you specifically opt out in writing.

11.2 Participant Content

Photos, reviews, and content shared by participants may be used by Mantle Travel Agency for promotional purposes with appropriate attribution.

12. Dispute Resolution

We strive to resolve any concerns or disputes amicably and efficiently.

12.1 Initial Resolution Process

Any complaints or concerns should first be addressed with our customer service team. We are committed to finding fair solutions and will investigate all issues thoroughly.

12.2 Governing Law

These terms are governed by Norwegian law, and any disputes will be resolved through Norwegian courts or agreed-upon arbitration processes.

13. Modifications to Terms

These terms may be updated periodically to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or industry standards.

13.1 Notification of Changes

Significant changes to these terms will be communicated to customers via email and posted on our website. Continued use of our services after changes indicates acceptance of updated terms.

13.2 Effective Date

These terms become effective immediately upon booking and remain in effect throughout your relationship with Mantle Travel Agency.
